Product Engineering Intern at Appwrite

About the role

Join Appwrite as a Product Engineering Intern and work with cross-functional teams to help build and improve product features. This full-time internship is remote and provides hands-on exposure to frontend technologies, performance optimization, accessibility, and product development workflows while collaborating with Platform Engineers, Designers, and the Growth team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing product ideas and solutions based on user needs, working closely with Product Designers and Platform Engineers.
• Learn and apply front-end technologies to implement simple, effective UI solutions and interactive features.
• Test product features to ensure reliability and quality, and help identify and fix issues during launches.
• Support feature rollouts, monitoring behavior and addressing bugs or regressions.
• Research competing products and share insights to improve Appwrite's user experience.
• Improve product performance and ensure smooth operation across different devices and browsers.
• Follow best practices for web accessibility to make features usable by all users.
• Where applicable, contribute to automated testing and help strengthen test coverage.

Requirements

• Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Svelte.
• Enthusiasm for learning product development and frontend engineering.
• Attention to detail and a proactive attitude toward acquiring new skills from experienced engineers and designers.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good to have

• Experience contributing to popular open source projects.
• Active participation in the Appwrite community or prior contributions to the Appwrite repository.
• Familiarity with using Appwrite in personal or professional projects.
• Prior exposure to automated testing, animation, or interactive UI work.
