Content marketing team manager

Location: Home based - EMEA (remote; candidate must be located in the EMEA region)

Role overview

Canonical is hiring a Content Marketing Team Manager to lead a high-performing group of writers and content strategists. You will own content strategy, quality and delivery across Canonical’s product portfolio, ensuring our narrative supports SEO, brand authority and commercial goals. This hands-on leadership role requires process discipline, metrics-driven decision making and the ability to scale content production while maintaining excellence.

What your day will look like

  • Develop and execute an integrated content marketing strategy aligned with business objectives, SEO and brand voice.
  • Manage the content calendar end-to-end, ensuring efficient production, reuse and governance with clear processes.
  • Maintain content quality, consistency and brand alignment across blog posts, technical content, thought leadership and campaign assets.
  • Collaborate with web and growth engineering teams to optimise content for search, performance and conversion.
  • Run quarterly content planning and prioritisation sessions with content specialists, product marketing and demand teams.
  • Monitor content KPIs and use analytics to identify improvement opportunities and iteratively improve content performance.
  • Align messaging and content plans with campaigns across channels, working closely with marketing, product and brand stakeholders.

What we are looking for in you

  • At least 5 years' experience in content or related roles, preferably in technology companies, with 2+ years in a managerial or team lead role.
  • Proven track record producing authoritative, high-quality content and a portfolio of written work.
  • Applied knowledge of SEO, SEO tools and the creation of SEO-driven content calendars and briefs.
  • Strong project management skills and experience creating efficient content production processes.
  • Excellent copywriting, editorial judgement and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Passion for technology and open source, with the ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical stakeholders.

Preferred skills

  • Experience with marketing automation, CRM integrations and analytics platforms to support campaign measurement and attribution.
  • Experience running paid acquisition, account-based marketing or partner-led content programs.
  • Familiarity with developer and product marketing in B2B SaaS or enterprise IT environments.
