Job Overview

We are hiring an Experience Team Product Designer to craft core user experiences across VRChat, focusing on events, groups, shared moments, and other social systems that drive presence and connection. You will work closely with the Experience Design Lead to shape cross-platform UX and take ownership of the company design system for client, web, and mobile, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability across products.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end product experiences for social features including events, groups, and presence-driven interactions.
• Own and evolve the design system across client, web, and mobile platforms to maintain coherent design patterns and accessibility standards.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and research partners to define requirements, iterate on concepts, and ship high-quality implementations.
• Create interaction models and expressive UI that support emotion, presence, and connection in immersive and non-immersive contexts.
• Advocate for systems thinking, accessibility, and cross-platform parity while mentoring other designers and contributors.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing complex, cross-platform product UX, with strong systems thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to steward a design system, creating reusable components and patterns that scale across platforms.
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, with sensitivity for presence, emotion, and expressive interaction in social products.
• Experience collaborating closely with engineers and product leads to deliver shipped features, and iterating based on data and user feedback.

Bonus Points

• Experience designing for VR, AR, or other immersive environments.
• Familiarity with accessibility practices for cross-platform and immersive interfaces.
• Contributions to open source design systems, or experience working with large-scale product platforms.
