Job Description

About the Role

Dandy is building a world-class Machine Learning and Computer Vision team to automate and improve our 3D dental manufacturing platform. As a Machine Learning Engineer on this newly created global, remote team, you will design and build models and MLOps pipelines that extract structure from complex 3D scans, advance generative 3D AI capabilities, and enable production-quality automation across our product lines.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Build and deploy machine learning models to extract structure and features from unstructured, information-dense 3D dental scans and other sensory data.
  • Research and evaluate state-of-the-art methods for 3D generative AI and conventional computer vision tasks to drive product innovation.
  • Work with product and research teams to identify high-impact opportunities and translate them into feature-focused workstreams.
  • Train and fine-tune models on massive datasets to produce both generalist and task-specific models.
  • Develop robust evaluation methods to measure dataset and model confidence, and ensure production readiness.
  • Implement best practices for MLOps pipelines, model monitoring, and reproducible experiments.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners and engineering teams to deliver value quickly and reliably to Dandyโ€™s customers.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

  • 3+ years of engineering experience, with at least 2 years specifically in machine learning work.
  • Extensive experience in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Impeccable attention to detail with strong coding and experimental discipline.
  • Masters or PhD in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with 2D deep learning and/or 3D deep learning, or 3D geometric computer vision is a strong plus.
  • Ability to work on ambiguous research problems and drive them toward practical, production-ready solutions.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 3D geometric computer vision, point clouds, meshes, or volumetric data.
  • Background in generative modeling for 3D data or familiarity with SOTA generative AI approaches.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices, model evaluation, and production monitoring.

Work Model

This is a global, remote-first role on a distributed team. Team members collaborate across time zones and are empowered to innovate and establish best practices for a growing ML organization.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Ranges (US) - USD 144,400 to USD 165,000, and USD 181,100 to USD 213,000, adjusted regionally for candidates outside the US. Dandy offers equity for this role. Full-time employees receive comprehensive benefits tailored to their country, typically including healthcare and dental, mental health support, parental planning resources, retirement savings options, and generous paid time off.
  • Health Insurance
  • 401(k) / Retirement Plans
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Wellness Programs
  • Equity/Stock Options

Why Join Us

This is an opportunity to solve novel 3D ML problems with real-world, industry-wide impact. You will help lay the foundation for a team that automates complex manufacturing processes and improves outcomes for clinicians and patients.
