Role Overview
Airbnb, founded in 2007, has grown into a platform with over 5 million hosts and 2 billion guest arrivals globally. The communications team plays a vital role in telling Airbnb's story worldwide, whether briefing the press on inspiring travel trends, highlighting unique experiences by local hosts, or explaining how travel on Airbnb benefits local communities. As part of this high-energy team, you will help protect Airbnb's reputation in the LATAM region and provide expert communications consultancy to comms, policy, and business teams.
The Difference You Will Make
We are seeking a Senior Communications Lead for Corporate & Policy Communications LATAM to develop and maintain a consistent brand voice across the region, adapting messaging for market nuances. You will be responsible for cascading global messaging and strategy updates and supporting prioritization and planning. This role requires confidence under pressure, explaining complex issues simply, and working with tight deadlines.
A Typical Day
- Advise the LATAM Policy team on comms strategies to support policy planning and goals.
- Ensure timely dissemination of global and regional policy updates, guiding the team on implementation.
- Support proactive campaigns and create content around key issues like over tourism and housing.
- Review external-facing policy-related press materials.
- Implement strategies to educate stakeholders about Airbnb's global policy narrative.
- Collaborate with global campaign strategists and regional leads to localize narratives.
- Design impactful reports and studies illustrating Airbnb's social value proposition.
- Contribute to written materials such as op-eds, presentations, and messaging guidelines.
- Identify interview opportunities for global executives and manage comms for exec participation.
- Support the comms leads with reactive corporate comms issues.
- Proactively build regionally relevant initiatives with editorial task force partnerships.
- Draft briefing documents and presentations for regional-level issues or opportunities.
Your Expertise
- 12+ years of experience in communications/public affairs, in a PR agency or in-house.
- Proven track record in leading Corporate and Policy communications initiatives.
- Expert knowledge of Latin America's media environment and political landscape.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multi-functional leads in a matrix organization.
- Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese is a plus.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Passion for Airbnb's mission and experience working in fast-paced environments.

This position requires you to be based in Miami, FL. You must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity.
