What We’re Looking For

We are seeking staff-level engineers with deep experience building scalable, secure, and efficient systems. This is an opportunity for engineers who enjoy solving hard problems, improving existing systems, and creating new solutions at scale.

Key Qualifications

• Staff-level engineering experience building scalable, secure, and efficient products.
• Founder experience or startup background is a strong plus, demonstrating an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to wear multiple hats.
• Deep knowledge of cloud platforms, microservices architecture, and building products at scale.
• Proficiency with modern frontend and backend technologies, including Next.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Go, or other relevant languages and frameworks.
• User-focused product mindset, with an emphasis on making identity management simple and robust for end users.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement scalable systems and services that power Clerk’s developer products.
• Collaborate across product, design, and engineering to drive high-quality launches and ongoing improvements.
• Mentor and shape engineering practices across the organization, influencing technical direction and standards.
• Help reduce complexity, increase reliability, and improve performance across our stack.
