Imunify360 and related products like Patchman provide automated protections, live patching, and long-term maintenance for Linux distributions and key software stacks. Role summary
We are seeking a Backend Developer to join the Patchman team. In this fully remote role you will design, build, and operate highly scalable backend systems that power Patchman. You will work across backend services, data pipelines, APIs, CI/CD and production operations to ensure reliability and performance at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructure and services.
- Investigate and resolve complex customer issues, perform deep root cause analysis, and implement fixes.
- Operate and maintain a large fleet of dedicated servers, API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodes.
- Build and optimise high-throughput data pipelines and message processing components.
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing to ensure safe releases.
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests and technical documentation.
- Monitor production metrics, identify reliability or performance gaps, and drive improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine architecture and delivery practices.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Proficiency in Python or Go for building production services.
- Experience with high-throughput message or streaming systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ, and large-scale data processing.
- Solid SQL skills and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and familiarity with Redis or similar in-memory stores.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based deployments.
- Experience designing services that handle very large request volumes and high internal operation rates.
- Strong Linux and networking fundamentals and excellent debugging skills for distributed systems.
- Experience with Django or comparable web frameworks is beneficial.
Nice to have
- Experience with ClickHouse or other columnar databases, or message queuing at extreme scale.
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus and Grafana.
- Exposure to SMTP, email deliverability concepts, or mail infrastructure.
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt, or Puppet.
