Role summary
We are hiring a Backend / Platform Engineer to build the backend services that power reputation tracking, domain verification, and message processing for Imunify Email. You will design secure APIs, manage relational databases for multi-tenant systems, automate deployments, and build observability into the platform. This is a hands-on role that combines backend development, infrastructure automation, and platform ownership.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services for reputation tracking, domain verification, and message processing.
- Develop secure APIs for customer and domain management.
- Design and manage relational databases for multi-tenant architectures, optimising SQL queries and schema for large-scale workloads.
- Automate deployments and infrastructure setup using modern IaC and automation tools.
- Implement monitoring and observability to track system health and performance.
- Write tests and validate the platform using real-world scenarios, and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Python or Go, with production experience building backend services.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and automation tools such as Ansible or similar.
- Experience building and securing RESTful APIs and multi-tenant systems.
- Solid Linux and networking fundamentals, and experience troubleshooting distributed systems.
- Practical SQL skills for relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and familiarity with caching tools like Redis.
- Experience with CI/CD, monitoring stacks, and observability practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with high-volume messaging or queuing systems.
- Familiarity with SMTP, mail deliverability, or mail infrastructure concepts.
- Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or other public clouds.

- Strong communicator who documents and shares knowledge clearly.
- Ownership mindset and strong problem-solving skills across backend and infrastructure layers.
