Location: Office Based - Taipei, Taiwan (Canonical Taiwan office)

Overview

Canonical is seeking an experienced B2B Events Manager to develop and execute a long-term events strategy across APAC. This hands-on, multidisciplinary role partners with regional sales, partners & alliances, product marketing, design and wider marketing functions to maximise event-driven pipeline and visibility for Canonical and Ubuntu.

The role of an Events Manager at Canonical

  • Develop and maintain a prioritized list of events for Canonical participation based on primary research and cross-team input.
  • Define relevant KPIs to measure individual event effectiveness and justify spend.
  • Source and negotiate the best deals to maximise visibility while minimising event costs.
  • Provide full logistical support for events globally and travel occasionally to major events.
  • Plan and manage the event budget, monitoring and adjusting spend to meet objectives.
  • Create repeatable systems and processes that measurably improve event effectiveness over time.
  • Work closely with diverse stakeholders including engineers, product managers, sales and executives to ensure event programmes support commercial goals.

What your day will look like

You will be prioritising events, setting KPIs, coordinating logistics, managing budgets, partnering with regional teams, and constantly iterating to improve event outcomes and ROI.

What we are looking for in you

  • Proven experience organising B2B events (trade shows, customer events, webinars, etc.) across APAC.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, STEM or related discipline.
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills in English.
  • Hands-on mindset with a passion for experimentation, measurement and optimisation.
  • Growth mindset and strong work ethic with a collaborative attitude.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams.
