Junior Product Manager
Location: Home based - EMEA (remote; candidate must be located in the EMEA region)
Role summary
Canonical is recruiting Junior Product Managers to join its product management organisation. This is an application track for product management roles across multiple domains (desktop, cloud, AI/ML, IoT, telco, automotive, and more). You will help set product vision, prioritise work, and ensure teams deliver high-quality products that meet user and business needs while advancing open source adoption.
The role entails
- Lead aspects of the product development lifecycle: define priorities, align cross-functional teams and track progress to deliver on roadmap goals.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, marketing and sales to translate product vision into executable plans, documentation and go-to-market activities.
- Conduct market research, analyse trends and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities and inform product decisions.
- Perform usability testing, iterate on product features and balance technical constraints with user needs.
- Support sales and customer engagements by providing product expertise, materials and competitive insight.
- Manage multiple projects or product lines while maintaining focus on the highest-impact priorities.
What we are looking for in you
- Exceptional academic results at high school and university (or equivalent experience).
- Technical understanding of Linux and the open source ecosystem; familiarity with cloud-native and embedded technologies is advantageous.
- Curiosity about technology, strong written and verbal communication skills in English, and a passion for writing about the tech landscape.
- Strong sense of ownership, problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise effectively across competing demands.
- Ability to collaborate with distributed teams across time zones and travel up to four times a year for company events when required.
Additional skills we value
- Familiarity with cloud-native technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker, Snap packaging and container workflows.
- Knowledge of networking, datacenter, embedded and device ecosystems (e.g., telco, automotive, IoT).
- Experience with developer tools, SDKs or working directly with IHVs, OEMs, silicon or cloud partners.
