Principal Product Manager, Strategic AI Partnerships
Location: Remote - Americas, Canada
Overview
GitLab is hiring a Principal Product Manager to lead Strategic AI Partnerships and integrations that drive developer adoption into the GitLab ecosystem. This role sits on the Strategic Alliance & Partnership team and focuses on identifying, prioritizing and securing partnerships with AI platforms, agentic solutions, and open source communities that create a graduation path into GitLab's AI offerings.
Responsibilities
- Research and analyze the AI platforms landscape to identify high-impact partnership targets and market trends.
- Develop prioritized target lists based on adoption, influence, and graduation path potential.
- Execute targeted outreach and negotiate partnership agreements that enable integrations, co-marketing and user progression pathways.
- Build joint go-to-market strategies with partners to accelerate mutual growth and coordinate joint customer engagements and proofs of concept.
- Serve as the primary business liaison for technical integrations, translating partner needs into integration requirements and working closely with engineering and product teams.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Developer Relations, Partner Engineering and executive leadership to scope technical and GTM integration work and measure partnership outcomes.
- Manage cross-functional initiatives and coordinate multi-stakeholder execution to drive measurable ARR impact from partnerships.
Requirements
- 5+ years hands-on experience with GitLab, GitHub, or similar DevOps platforms and Git-based workflows.
- 1+ year experience with AI integrations and familiarity with AI/ML workflows and developer tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to balance short-term execution with long-term partnership vision.
- Proven experience in strategic partnership development, business development, or enterprise software partnerships.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to coordinate complex initiatives across engineering, product and GTM teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting to executives and founders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
Preferred
- Experience working with AI platform vendors and open source AI communities.
- Track record building joint technical integrations and GTM motions with developer-focused products.
Compensation and hiring notes
This role is remote. Salary ranges are location dependent. Example US ranges for certain jurisdictions: $201,600 - $288,000 USD. GitLab hires globally and may have location-based eligibility requirements. Review GitLab's Recruitment Privacy Notice for candidate data handling details.
