Senior Product Manager, AI/ML at Chess

About You

You love chess and the role AI has played in the game. You are an experienced product manager who has shipped consumer-facing AI and ML features, and you are comfortable defining success in ambiguous areas and communicating outcomes to executive stakeholders. You collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams, and you are excited to grow chess by delivering AI-driven experiences that delight users.

What you'll do

• Define and deliver product vision - Shape and execute the near-term roadmap and long-term vision for Chess.com’s AI initiatives to grow engagement and help users learn chess.
• Expand AI across products - Increase the use of AI in existing features such as Game Review, Play Coach, FairPlay, and beyond.
• Lead new AI initiatives - Drive development of human-like chess bots, interactive LLM-driven coaches, and other innovative AI experiences.
• Prototype and de-risk - Collaborate with engineering to prototype models and iterate quickly using proofs of concept to surface risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery - Align product, engineering, design, and data teams to integrate AI features into existing products and ensure coherent execution.
• Be a trusted expert - Act as a bridge between technical teams and executives, creating clarity and trust around AI-driven product decisions.

Preferred Skills

• 7+ years of product management experience shipping consumer-facing products with AI/ML features.
• Experience shipping interactive LLM products and quantitative ML-driven consumer features.
• Comfort working closely with engineering to evaluate and operationalize models and MLOps practices.
• Strong ability to define product success metrics, build experimentation plans, and drive iterative delivery.
• Passion for chess and enthusiasm for applying AI to enhance learning and play experiences.

This is a full-time role. Chess.com is 100% remote - work from anywhere. You will lead AI/ML product growth, partner with engineering to prototype and scale models, and help shape how intelligent systems power chess experiences at global scale.
