About You

You have a proven track record of leading product engineering teams and delivering successful products at scale. You are a hands-on engineer with strong architecture and leadership skills, and you know how to support and develop the people around you. You understand product development processes, and you can analyze teams and systems to improve effectiveness and outcomes. You have a vision for how technology drives the business, and you can engage across levels of an organization as both teacher and learner. You are humble, have a sense of humor, and ideally have experience or a strong interest in the gaming industry and chess.

What you'll do

• Collaborate across workstreams to align and execute the product engineering roadmap.
• Define and launch new products and features, and improve and optimize existing ones.
• Build and support multiple cross-functional product engineering teams, growing technical capability and delivery quality.
• Improve operational quality initiatives and ensure reliable, timely delivery across teams.
• Manage multiple teams and develop their Kindness and Excellence traits according to company level frameworks.
• Architect and launch services that deliver value at massive scale for a global audience.

• Handling a massive volume of games and data at scale.
• Serving a very large global user base with high performance and reliability expectations.
• Maintaining high quality and development velocity while delivering across many product areas.

Preferred Skills

• Strong collaboration and communication skills for fully distributed teams.
• Experience with software engineering and architecture in modern cloud environments, for example Google Cloud and Kubernetes.
• Experience across the full product development lifecycle, from conception to launch.
• Familiarity with multiple programming languages such as PHP, Java, Golang, and Python, and hands-on full stack experience across edge, app, databases, and infrastructure.
• Experience in data-driven product environments, including A/B testing and cross-functional data communication.
• Experience with high-availability system design and scalable architecture patterns.
• Sense of ownership and responsibility, and a passion for lifelong learning. Chess players are encouraged to apply.
