Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Remote

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design and operate the data foundation that enables analytics, experimentation, and decision making across Phantom. You will build and scale data pipelines that combine blockchain, product, and marketing data, enabling teams to move faster and with confidence.

Responsibilities

• Onchain data engineering - design and maintain reliable pipelines that transform raw blockchain data, including balances, transfers, bridges, PnL, and token prices, into analytics-ready datasets.
• Data modeling and architecture - build scalable, well-tested dbt models to power product metrics, experimentation, and segmentation such as enriched user profiles and user journeys.
• Data quality and observability - implement monitoring, testing, and data quality frameworks to ensure accuracy, freshness, and trust across pipelines.
• Cross-functional collaboration - partner with Product, Data Science, and Growth to deliver data solutions that unlock insights, experimentation, and targeting for marketing integrations like Braze and AppsFlyer.
• Infrastructure and optimization - improve performance and cost efficiency across the stack, from Snowflake query tuning to dbt hygiene and pipeline orchestration.
• Technical leadership - define best practices for data engineering, mentor peers, and shape how Phantom scales its analytics foundation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building modern data pipelines and infrastructure in high-growth environments.
• Deep expertise in SQL and Python, with strong experience in Snowflake and dbt.
• Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT workflows using tools like Airbyte, Rudderstack, or similar platforms.
• Strong background in data modeling, schema design, and observability frameworks.
• Practical experience working with onchain data such as balances, transactions, and token movements is highly desirable.
• Ability to operate autonomously, set technical direction, and collaborate across teams.

Preferred qualifications

• Familiarity with crypto data ecosystems including RPCs, indexers, explorers, bridges, and DEXs.
• Experience supporting experimentation and A/B testing infrastructure such as Eppo.
• Exposure to marketing and growth data stacks including Braze and AppsFlyer.
• Track record improving query performance, refactoring dbt projects, and managing data costs.
