About You

We are seeking an experienced, visionary Director, International Content & Growth to lead global content operations. You will manage and mentor diverse international teams responsible for creating, translating, and distributing high-quality chess content, while identifying strategic opportunities to grow our global audience. The ideal candidate is a player-coach: a strong leader who is also a supportive teammate, a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, and someone passionate about chess and the global chess community.

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate multiple international teams to ensure seamless execution of content creation and translation efforts, fostering collaboration and empowering team members to do their best work.
• Oversee development and distribution of engaging chess content tailored for international audiences, and ensure culturally sensitive, high-quality translations for published content and user-facing interface copy.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships with key individuals and companies across international markets to expand reach and strengthen global presence.
• Serve as subject matter expert on cultural and regional differences, applying this knowledge to refine content strategy, business development, and community engagement initiatives.

• Significant experience leading and managing international teams.
• Proven experience managing content and social media teams.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse workforce in a remote work environment.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with experience mentoring and inspiring team members.
• Strong strategic and analytical thinking, with the ability to identify business opportunities and inform growth strategy.
• Deep understanding of global cultures and regional market dynamics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
