Job Overview
Pressable, part of Automattic, is hiring a seasoned Technical Account Manager to drive adoption and success for customers using Pressable's managed WordPress hosting. This role blends technical leadership, customer advocacy, and relationship management to ensure customers achieve operational success on the platform. There are 2 open positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive customers' adoption of Pressable's managed WordPress hosting services and ensure long-term platform success.
- Use technical expertise and customer-facing skills to represent Pressable, articulating technical trade-offs, incident responses, and product strategy to senior stakeholders.
- Support the sales process by providing technical demonstrations, assessments, and answers to product queries.
- Build close relationships with key customers to understand business needs, design solutions, and guide onboarding for a smooth transition to Pressable.
- Provide strategic technical guidance, advocate for customers, and help plan solutions that proactively maintain platform health.
- Collaborate with support, product, and development teams to troubleshoot complex issues and relay customer feedback to inform product improvements.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, technical issues, and resolutions to create reusable documentation and training materials for sales and support teams.
About You
- Motivated by impact, with a focus on rapid deployment of high-profile sites, digital transformation, or supporting mid-market and agency partners.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, comfortable managing multiple client accounts and timelines.
- Experience influencing customer outcomes, measuring customer health metrics, and documenting interactions in tooling systems.
- Proven ability to collaborate across sales, support, product, and engineering to support new business, renewals, and expansions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- In-depth WordPress development experience is required, including knowledge of performance and caching strategies for high-traffic sites.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to operate effectively in high-stakes technical situations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining WordPress sites and architectures at scale.
- Track record of customer-facing technical roles such as solutions engineering, technical account management, or platform operations.
- Experience creating structure and processes in ambiguous situations and leading service reviews with customers.
- Comfort working with engineering teams to surface and prioritize product improvements based on customer feedback.
Salary and Compensation
Salary range: $70,000 - $130,000 USD. Note that while ranges are displayed in USD, compensation may be paid in local currency. Automattic evaluates pay based on the candidate's potential contribution and impact.
