The Role

We are hiring a high-energy Recovery Consulting Specialist to deliver white-glove service during ransomware recovery engagements. You will work on fast-paced recovery projects, coordinate with victims and partners, and apply technical skills to restore systems and data. This customer-facing role requires strong technical troubleshooting and the ability to manage stakeholder communications under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Communication - Serve as Halcyon’s representative during ransomware recovery projects, coordinating with insurance carriers, incident response teams, client executives, and technical staff.
• Project coordination - Work with victim technical teams to configure and orchestrate recovery steps according to Halcyon’s methodology, and set project goals to drive progress.
• Reporting - Produce clear daily status updates and reports for diverse stakeholders.
• Technical operations - Apply Windows and Linux systems administration knowledge to tasks such as software installation, monitoring, remote access configuration, permission and policy management, and related security configurations.
• Virtualization and networking - Implement and manage virtualization platforms like ESXi, Hyper-V, and VirtualBox, and work with networking protocols and services including RDP, SSH, DHCP, DNS, and proxies.
• Collaboration - Partner with engineering and product teams to provide field feedback, and coordinate with Customer Success for smooth handoffs and ongoing account support.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree preferred.
• 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role, such as security consulting, managed services, or technical support.
• Strong customer service focus with experience communicating to technical and executive audiences.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to lead from the front when needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with a positive, adaptable attitude.

Bonus Skills and Qualifications

• Experience as a penetration tester or offensive security professional.
• Hands-on incident response experience with demonstrated case examples and outcomes.
• Practical Python coding skills with examples of past projects that contributed to prior roles.

Travel Requirement

This role requires the capability to travel on short notice to client sites up to 20% of the time. Average travel over the past year has been under 10%.

Compensation

Base Salary Range: $140,000 - $180,000, plus a 10% bonus target and equity participation. The range is a reasonable estimate and actual pay may vary based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, and location. The role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses or incentives.
