Partner Sales Manager - Hewlett Packard Enterprise, India

Location: Home Based - APAC (this role is remote and must be based in India)

Role overview

Canonical is hiring a Partner Sales Manager focussed on Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) to grow and deepen our strategic relationships with a major IHV partner in India. You will represent Canonical across HPE’s engineering, field and executive stakeholders to increase market share, drive joint opportunities and enable HPE to successfully sell Canonical’s Ubuntu and related open-source solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Build trusted, strategic relationships across HPE to increase Canonical product adoption and attach rates.
  • Develop and grow a qualified pipeline and transact partner-sourced or partner-assisted opportunities through HPE.
  • Evangelise Canonical’s value across personas from engineers to CxOs via workshops, executive briefings and public presentations.
  • Support and align internal Canonical field teams to coordinate activities, enablement, and joint go-to-market motions.
  • Capture partner and customer requirements, identify gaps and create actionable opportunities to expand Canonical’s footprint within HPE accounts.
  • Report on progress, meet targets and contribute to regional partner strategy as directed by senior alliance leadership.
  • Travel regularly, including international travel, to engage partners and attend events as required.

What we are looking for in you

  • Proven experience in alliance or indirect partner sales management, ideally with IHVs or large OEMs such as HPE.
  • Sales acumen and ability to build, manage and close a pipeline through partner channels.
  • Deep understanding of the Linux and cloud software ecosystem and familiarity with virtualization and container technologies.
  • Autonomous, disciplined and highly motivated with a hands-on, get‑it‑done mentality.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills across technical and executive audiences.
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM tooling; Google Suite familiarity is a plus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships across Canonical and partner organisations.
  • Willingness to travel up to four times per year for internal and partner events.

Preferred experience

  • Credibility and working knowledge of HPE products, go-to-market motions and field organisation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (containers, orchestration) and enterprise infrastructure trends.
  • Track record of operational excellence managing complex partner programs and campaigns.

What we offer

Canonical offers competitive compensation that reflects geography, experience and performance and a set of benefits tailored to local requirements. You’ll join a remote-first business that convenes for in-person sprints twice yearly.

  • Distributed remote working model with periodic in-person team sprints and partner events.
  • Personal learning and development budget of USD 2,000 per year.
  • Annual compensation review, recognition rewards, annual holiday leave and paid parental leave.
  • Team Member Assistance Programme and wellness support, plus travel benefits for long-haul events.
