Role overview

Title: Software Engineer (Trading)

Location: Remote

As a Software Engineer on the trading team, you will build the systems that power Phantom's trading experiences. You will design and implement APIs, data pipelines, and services that connect blockchain infrastructure with intuitive user experiences. Your work will focus on integrating new trading protocols and aggregators, experimenting with trading surfaces and user segments, and helping shape how users discover and execute digital asset trades across multiple chains.

Responsibilities

• Own feature development for Phantom's web platforms, including the Phantom Extension and website.
• Design, implement, and maintain APIs, data pipelines, and backend services that support trading flows and integrations.
• Integrate and aggregate trading protocols, aggregators, and trade types across multiple blockchains.
• Prototype and experiment with new trading surfaces and product concepts to improve discovery and execution for users.
• Engage directly with end users and external developers to gather feedback and improve product direction.
• Contribute to team culture by mentoring peers and raising the bar on engineering quality and hiring.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated interest in open, community-driven platforms and blockchain ecosystems.
• Experience building web platform features and backend services that power user-facing trading functionality.
• Nice to have: prior experience working with trading systems.
• English language proficiency.

Compensation

Target base salary: $200,000 - $250,000, plus equity and benefits. Final offer depends on experience, skills, interview performance, and market factors.
